Former undisputed champion posts “U will see” as speculation grows around reported new contract
Devin Haney added more speculation to reports of a nine-figure deal after responding to criticism on social media Thursday. The unbeaten former undisputed champion posted “U will see” after fans questioned why no opponent or fight date has been announced.
The undefeated former undisputed lightweight champion posted a short message on X after fans questioned why no opponent or fight date has been announced despite recent claims about a massive new contract.
“U will see,” Haney posted on X.
Haney was responding to a post from Pound4Pound that mocked the situation after Bill Haney recently suggested Devin had secured a deal worth more than $100 million.
“So he got this ‘100 million dollar deal’ but no fight date and no opponent,” the post read.
The exchange quickly added more attention to speculation surrounding Haney’s future. Bill Haney recently fueled talk of a major agreement involving Devin, but neither the promotional company nor the details of the reported deal have been officially confirmed.
Haney also posted a gym photo earlier Thursday with the caption:
“Ready for whoever.. InshaAllah.”
The 33-0 Haney has remained one of boxing’s biggest free-agent attractions after his recent stretch at welterweight. Rumors continue to circulate about possible involvement with new investors and promotional groups entering the sport, including the Saudi-backed projects and Zuffa Boxing discussions that have dominated boxing headlines in recent months.
No opponent, venue, or timetable has been officially announced for Haney’s next fight, but his latest response suggested something substantial could still be in the works.
Haney has remained largely quiet about his next move since defeating Ryan Garcia in their rematch earlier this year. Despite the silence surrounding an official opponent, his social media activity and Bill Haney’s recent comments have continued to fuel speculation about a major announcement tied to a new promotional or investment partnership.
Several fighters at welterweight and junior welterweight have already begun reacting publicly to the possibility of Haney returning later this year.
