The former heavyweight champion has been given a new promotional identity as DAZN ramps up the build toward his Riyadh return

Anthony Joshua has a new nickname ahead of his July 25 comeback. DAZN introduced the former heavyweight champion as “The Landlord” in a new promotional campaign designed to build anticipation for his fight with Kristian Prenga in Riyadh.

DAZN Boxing unveiled a promotional poster on Saturday branding the former two-time heavyweight champion as “The Landlord,” showing Joshua in a suit holding a set of keys alongside the caption, “It’s nearly time to collect some rent.” The campaign is being used to build anticipation for Joshua’s July 25 fight against Prenga during Esports World Cup Fight Week in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The message leaves little doubt about how the event is being promoted. Joshua is being presented as the established heavyweight expected to take care of business against the hard-hitting Albanian Prenga.

The 36-year-old Joshua (29-4, 26 KOs) is preparing for his second fight since suffering a fifth-round knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024. He returned to the ring last December, stopping YouTuber Jake Paul in the fifth round in Miami, Florida, and now looks to build on that victory against Prenga.

Prenga (20-1, 20 KOs) has stopped every opponent he has beaten, but the 34-year-old has spent much of his career competing against modest opposition and enters the bout as a sizable underdog. Despite his knockout percentage, few expect him to derail Joshua’s plans.

A dominant victory over Prenga would move Joshua a step closer to the long-discussed domestic showdown with Tyson Fury, provided Fury defeats Mariusz Wach in his scheduled August return. First, however, Joshua must deliver the type of performance DAZN’s “The Landlord” campaign promises on fight night.
