Former heavyweight champion says Tyson Fury will not be the final major fight of his career
Anthony Joshua says a fight with Tyson Fury will not be the final major chapter of his heavyweight career. The former champion named Daniel Dubois, Fabio Wardley, Agit Kabayel, Moses Itauma and Deontay Wilder as opponents he still wants to face.
“With me and Fury, it can’t be the only one [left], because I know that if I stay around long enough there is a rematch with Dubois, there is a potential Fabio Wardley fight, there is the Agit Kabayel fight out there, provided he becomes champion, I like how big that would be,” said Joshua to The Ring.
“There is the Moses Itauma fight, as he is coming up the rankings, there is still the Wilder fight out there. These are going to be massive fights.”
The list includes former world champion Deontay Wilder, rising contender Moses Itauma, unbeaten heavyweight Agit Kabayel, British rival Fabio Wardley, and a rematch with Daniel Dubois, who knocked Joshua out in 2024.
For Joshua, a potential fight with Fury is not necessarily the final chapter of his career.
“These are going to be massive fights,” Joshua said.
While Joshua’s immediate focus remains on Prenga and Fury, his comments suggest he has no intention of walking away from the heavyweight division anytime soon.
Joshua first must get past Prenga and then Fury, but the two-time heavyweight champion has already identified five major fights he would like to pursue afterward.
