RAY MERCER HEADLINES FIGHT CARD AT CAESARS INDIANA ON NOV.11

28.10.03 – Promoter Chris A. Webb/Straight Out Promotions will present “Battle of the Gladiators,” a sensational fight card on Tuesday, November 11, 2003, in the Colosseum at Caesars Indiana in Bridgeport, Indiana. This is the first in a series of events that will be presented by Straight Out Promotions with Caesars Indiana on Tuesday nights. Caesars Indiana is a fifteen-minute drive from Louisville, Kentucky.

MAIN EVENT – 10 ROUNDS, HEAVYWEIGHTS
RAY MERCER vs ONEBO MAXIME
“Merciless” Ray Mercer will fight Onebo Maxime in the heavyweight main event, scheduled for 10 rounds. Mercer, 31-5-1, with 23 knockouts, is a former WBO heavyweight world champion and was the 1988 Olympic heavyweight gold medalist.

CO-FEATURE – 8 ROUNDS, SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHTS
RANDY GRIFFIN vs TYRUS ARMSTEAD
Randy “The Gentleman” Griffin will fight Tyrus Armstrong in the eight-round co-featured bout. Now 27 years old, Griffin has a record of 14-1 with 9 knockouts. He is a talented prospect at 168 pounds and currently ranked No. 11 by the USBA.

ELOY ROJAS vs ABDUL BLACKBURN
Former WBA featherweight world champion Eloy Rojas, 37-2-2, with 26 knockouts, is making his comeback at 135 pounds and will fight Abdul Blackburn in a six-round bout. A native of Venezuela, Rojas made six successful defenses of the world title.

EDWIN CASSIANI vs TBA
Edwin “El Olimpico” Cassiani, 24-3, 21 KOs, will be featured in an eight-round welterweight fight against an opponent to be announced. He is a former Colombian jr. welterweight champion, and was a 1992 Olympic representative for Colombia at 139 pounds.

WILLIAM ABELYAN vs TBA
William “The Conquerer” Abelyan, 23-4-1, with 12 knockouts, will be featured in a featherweight bout against an opponent to be announced. Abelyan has scored a series of impressive wins and climbed in the world top-ten ratings to WBO No. 2, IBF No. 4, WBC No. 7, The Ring No. 7, and WBA No. 9.
