The main event spotlight was on Ian Green in Miami last night. The WBA Middleweight Continental USA champ clearly didn’t come to play. He was up against Vaughn Alexander, who, let’s be honest, might have wished he stayed in bed that day. Green, showing off his fabulous jabbing skills, ended the show with a body shot in the eighth round that sent Alexander packing. Bye, Felicia!

Then we had the co-main event, where Tre’sean Wiggins strutted his stuff against Chris Howard. Wiggins, apparently not in the mood to drag it out, delivered a knockout in the first round.

In another fight, Antonio Perez and Haskell Rhodes went head to head for the WBC Vacant International Lightweight title. Perez, the new kid on the block, proved too fast and furious for Rhodes, scoring not one but two knockdowns. Talk about making an entrance!

And let’s not forget Alex Castro, who showed Harry K. Cruz who’s boss in their middleweight fight. Castro’s game plan was basically “I’m the king of this ring,” and he wasn’t wrong.

Now, for a dose of emotion, Ian Green got all sentimental on us, dedicating his win to his late mother. He had some inspirational words too, about pushing through tough times. A boxer with a heart – who knew?

Green also talked big about his future, saying he’s ready to take on any champion Don King throws his way. That’s the spirit, honey!

Green on the significance of this bout: “I want to dedicate this fight to my late mother. Tomorrow is her birthday and there was a lot of pressure on me going into this fight. I want to say happy birthday mom and I hope you’re proud of me. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me and raising me to the man I am today. If you’re ever going through something, keep pushing. If you’re ever depressed and don’t know what you want to do, keep pushing. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel. I ain’t where I want to be, but I’m not where I started, and that’s all that matters.”

Green on his victory: “Like I said before I’m a dog. He caught me with a good shot, so I had to show him and switch it up. I worked on that body shot every day in the gym, and I made it happen today.”

Green on what’s next: “I told Don, whoever he puts in front of me, I’ll beat them. I want champions, I want the best.”

Tre’sean Wiggins, on the other hand, was as surprised as we were about his quick win. He’s eyeing a title shot next, or at least a title eliminator. Aim high, Tre’sean, aim high!

Antonio Perez, after his win, shared that the first few rounds were as he predicted, but then things heated up. He managed to outshine Rhodes, proving he’s not just a pretty face with boxing gloves.

As for Alex Castro, he admitted that his fight against Harry K. Cruz was as much a mental battle as a physical one. Next up for him? Well, he’s basically saying, “Bring it on, Don King!”

In the undercards, we had some blink-and-you-miss-it fights. De Von Williams and Davan Depestre both wrapped up their fights faster than it takes to make a cup of coffee. Talk about not getting paid by the hour!
