World rankings are up for grabs on ‘Judgement Day’ next week.
Mickey Helliet and Warrior Promotions stage a show at the Troxy on Friday, October 30 – and the winners of the top-of-the-bill fights will earn world rankings.
The ABU welterweight title – and a ranking with the WBC – are up for grabs when Larry ‘The Natural’ Ekundayo and Joseph Lamptey square up in a Commonwealth title final eliminator.
And the prize for either Ben Jones or Martin Parlagi is the WBO Intercontinental featherweight title – and a top-15 world ranking.
Jones was previously world ranked up at 9st 4lbs after winning WBO European honours.
He’s since decided to campaign at featherweight and is targeting a rematch with IBF champion Lee Selby, who narrowly outpointed him over six rounds five years ago.
Jones says he believes he’s “all wrong” for the Welshman, who made a successful first defence of his world title against Fernando Montiel in America last week.
For Ekundayo, best known for winning ‘Prizefighter’ after entering as a two-fight novice three years ago, this is his first fight since signing with Helliet.
‘Judgement Day’ will be shown on London Live from 8pm and their viewers will also see Irish super-middleweight champion JJ McDonagh box Ali Shah for the Challenge belt.
Islington welterweight Jordan Grannum meets Bridgwater banger Dean Mills in a good match, Onder Ozgul and Brandon Brewer look to extend their winning records and Bournemouth ticket seller MH Legg is also matched.
Also on the bill, Luton super-middleweight Mohammed Mustafa makes his professional debut.
