Newly crowned WBO Female Flyweight Champion Kenia Enriquez, who captured her title last November in the last Bobby D. Presents card of 2014, wants to give back to the community that supported her for the first five years of her career while an amateur by organizing the first ever all-female amateur boxing tournament in her hometown of Tijuana, Mexico.
Enriquez fought over 70 times as an amateur in Tijuana sometimes fighting the same opponent 10-15 times since there wasn’t enough females participating in boxing. Enriquez went on to the Mexican Nationals bringing back a bronze medal in 2011.
Scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, February 7th and 8th, 2015, the 1st Annual Kenia Enriquez All-Female Amateur Boxing Invitational Tournament hopes to bring together the growing number of young ladies who are beginning the sport they love and give them the support they truly deserve while serving as an inspiration of what you can achieve through hard work and dedication. With the funds raised here Enriquez would be able to pay for the medals, belts and t-shirts she is looking to award the winners and/or participants of the tournament.
Please help by donating any amount you can to reach the goal of $500 to be able to cover the championship belts, medals and t-shirts the winners will be awarded.
Thank you all for your support.
