SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO- World Boxing Organization (WBO), by president Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel, announced today the referees and judges who will work this Saturday, September, 7, in the world title bouts to be held in United Kingdom and Denmark.
At the Scottish Exhibition Centre in Glasgow, Scotland, the WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns (36-2, 11 KOs), will defend for the fourth time his belt against the sixth ranked, Mexican Raymundo Beltran (28-6, 17 KOs), in a Matchroom Boxing presentation. For this fight the referee is Phil Edwards from United Kingdom.
The judges for the Burns-Beltran bout are Andre Van Grootenbruel from Belgium, Carlos Ortiz Jr. from United States and Richie Davis from United Kingdom. The WBO supervisor for this fight will be John Handelaar.
Meanwhile, at the Arena Nord in Frederikshavn, Denmark, the WBO female welterweight champion Cecilia Braekhus (22-0, 6 KOs), will defend for the eight time her WBO title and also her WBC and WBA belts, against the WBO junior middleweight titlist Oxandia Castillo (12-0, 9 KOs), from Dominican Republic. The referee will be Mickey Vann.
The judges for this Sauerland Events presentation will be Mikael Hook, Carlos Ramon and Stefano Carroza. The WBO supervisor will be Edoardo Ceccoli.
