SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO- World Boxing Organization (WBO), by president Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel, announced today the officials who will work this Saturday, April 26, in the world titles bouts, Juan Francisco Estrada vs Richie Mepranum and Yesica Bopp vs Daniel Romina Bermudez, to be held in Mexico and Argentina, respectively.
At the Centro de Convenciones de Puerto Peñasco in Sonora, Mexico, the WBO flyweight champion Juan Francisco Estrada (25-2, 18 KOs), from Mexico, will defend for the second time his WBO 112 pounds belt against the #10 ranked Richie Mepranum (27-3-1, 6 KOs), from Philippines. For this fight the referee will be Celestino Ruiz, from United States.
The judges for this Promociones Zanfer presentation are Adalaide Byrd, from United States, Ignacio Robles, from Panama, and Alex Marin, from Panama. The WBO supervisor for this fight will be Rudy Paz.
While, at the Polideportivo Carlos Magalot in Rio Grande, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, and in a war between Argentina’s boxers, the WBO female junior flyweight (108 pounds) champion Yesica Bopp (26-1, 12 KOs), will face Daniela Romina Bermudez (16-2-2, 5 KOs) for the vacant WBO female flyweight title. The referee for this fight will be Mario Gonzalez, from Argentina.
The judges for this bout are Juan C. Palmieri, Javier Geido and Hugo Tourville, all three from Argentina. The WBO supervisor for this fight will be Jorge Molina.
This O.R. Promotions presentation is a rematch between Bopp and Bermudez, who fought in September, 2011, when Bopp won an unanimous decision to retain her WBO junior flyweight belt.
