Sanigar Events are proud to announce ‘Unfinished Business.’ Craig Kennedy will rematch Londoner Wadi Camacho in a serious grudge match. The first contest ended in controversy when Camacho allegedly bit the Welshman on the neck and referee Martin Williams disqualified him. Until the point of stoppage the fight had just began to heat up and ‘The Kid’ Kennedy landed hurtful punches that cut Camacho under the eye. Both parties were quick to ask for a rematch and public demand by Welsh fight fans ensured that it had to happen.
In the chief support event Frankie Borg and Chris Ware will fight in a highly anticipated rematch for the Welsh Title (subject to BBBoC approval). Chris Ware upset Borg by a unanimous points win as a late replacement in December. Ware surprised Welsh champion Borg by knocking him down in the first and fourth rounds to win a thrilling contest over four rounds. Borg demanded a rematch over a longer distance and is willing to put his Welsh title on the line.
In the second Welsh Title contest on the card Jerome Samuels will be coming back to defend his title against the experienced former champion Barrie Jones.
Cefn Fforest man Robbie Turley will return to the ring in a keep busy fight following his dazzling performance in a British Title Eliminator in December.
The undefeated Morgan Jones will take on Cardiff’s Jimmy White, both of whom were involved in all action clashes last time out.
2014 Commonwealth Games Bronze medallist and decorated Welsh amateur Nathan Thorley will make his debut along with fellow debutante Richard Canning. Welsh prospects Tony Dixon, Adam Goldsmith, Kyle Jones and James Lilley will also feature.
Promoter Chris Sanigar believes that there are exciting times ahead for Welsh boxing:
“This is one of the best shows in Wales in recent memory, potentially all of these lads can feature in title fights down the line. These are really exciting times for Welsh boxing especially with Lee Selby awaiting the call for his world title shot any day now.”
The event will be shown live on Eurosport across 109 countries and we expect another great show of support from the Welsh public.
