Unbeaten Cruiserweights: Lviv Ukraine’s 4-0 (3KO) Lyubomyr “The Demolition Man” Pinchuk and former 2016 Rio Olympian 2-0 (1KO) Kennedy Katende will meet this Friday night in a scheduled six rounder at Philadelphia’s SugarHouse Casino. Promoted by Evander Holyfield’s Real Deal Promotions, this exciting card also featured some of the country’s top undefeated welterweight prospects including 17-0 Jaron “Boots” Ennis, former national amateur champion 1-0 Poindexter Knight, 8-0 Janelson Bocachia, and 3-0 Marcel Rivers.
After 250 amateur fights in the Ukraine and Europe, the 21 year old Pinchuk now trains at The Conn-Greb Boxing Club in Pittsburgh. Since turning pro in February of 2017 ,“The Demolition Man” has put all four of his opponents on the canvas while stopping three of them. Trainer Mike McSorley said: “Opportunity doesn’t give advanced notice when it comes knocking on your door, we have stayed ready”.
The 32 year old Katende, originally from Uganda, grew up in Sundvall Sweden and had a long successful amateur career. The slick, mobile, switch hitter was a fan favorite in the World Series of Boxing. He fought two seasons for the Mexico Guerreros and the USA Knockouts. In 2008, he qualified for the Olympics and later fought for Uganda in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
