Mark Till is backing himself to come out on top in his Stoke Showdown with Marcus Le Doux.
The Potteries pair lock-horns on EJKO Promotions’ ‘The Chase’ at Chase Leisure Centre, Cannock, on Saturday, 4th October.
The 27 year-old has fought 11 times since turning pro just 12 months ago and believes his ring sharpness will be the difference when he steps in with fellow ‘Stokie’ Le Doux next month.
“From what I’ve seen Marcus is a good boxer,” Till told www.uko-boxing.com. “I don’t know a lot about him but it’s going be interesting because we are both Stoke boxers.
“We will both want to win as we’ll want the local bragging rights. You don’t want to lose from someone who lives in your neck of the woods.
“We will have to see on the night but obviously I’m backing myself the win.
“I’m always in entertaining fights and, with this one having the added spice of a derby, I think there will be fireworks.
“I’ve kept myself very busy since turning professional last year. I’ve had a fight virtually every month but I’ve had a bit of a rest for this one and I’m ready to show what I’m capable of in this new boxing season.”
‘The Chase’ has a real Potteries feel about the show.
Stafford’s Grant Cunningham tops the bill against Kieron Gray in a British Bronze Masters Title fight whilst undefeated Stoke welterweight Josh McLaren will be looking to make it 5-0 when he faces Bulgarian scrapper, Danny Donchev.
Cousin, Kieran McLaren, is set to make his pro debut at light welterweight and Chester light welterweight, Nathan Clarke, is also in action.
Completing the line-up is Stourbridge’s former Midlands Area Welterweight Champion, Steven Pearce.
‘The Chase’ takes place at Chase Leisure Centre, Stafford Road, Cannock, Staffordshire, WS11 4AL.
Tickets, priced at £30 and £50 Ringside, are available by calling 07891 263 167.
