Otto Wallin (12-0, 10 KOs) is benefitting from some world-class sparring ahead of his September 19 showdown with Vladimir Goncharov (5-1, 4 KOs) at the Rosvalla Stora Ishallen at the Nyköpings Arenor in Nyköping, Sweden.
The undefeated prospect from Sundsvall has travelled to Berlin to link up with former European Champion and World title challenger Kubrat Pulev, one of the top names in the heavyweight division.
‘’This is a great experience for me,’’ said Wallin. ‘’Sparring is one of the most important aspects of training, particularly when you are preparing for a fight, and Kubrat is one of the best heavyweights in the world.
‘’I know him from when I used to train in Berlin and he is a really tough guy. He showed real heart and desire when he fought Klitschko, and although the result didn’t go his way, he really pushed him to that next level, and it was a performance to be proud of. I couldn’t ask for a better sparring partner.
‘’However, I’m not here to just make up the numbers. I’m here to compete! I want to test myself and push my limits. This is a great opportunity for me to see where I’m at and how much I have developed, and I honestly feel like I belong here.
‘’No doubt about it, I’m going to be 100% ready for Goncharov. My coach Joey Gamache has the perfect game plan, I’ve had the perfect preparation, so it’s going to be another good night for me!’’
Wallin fights on the undercard of Erik Skoglund’s historic IBF Intercontinental Light Heavyweight title defence against Oleksandr Cherviak. All the action will be shown live on TV10 in Sweden. Tickets are available via http://www.biljettforum.se.
