Top Catz Boxing, in keeping with their commitment to positively change the perception of North Carolina boxing, has signed three of the most coveted fighters in the Carolinas. Top Catz signed Welterweight Anthony Sonnier, Heavyweight Jo-El Caudle, and Cruiserweight Austin Bryant.
At a well attended press conference at El Tapatio Restaurant located at 2921 Raleigh Rd Pkwy W, Sonnier, Caudle, and Bryant all signed their first promotional contracts.
Sonnier, a tall, athletic Welterweight with power, had a strong amateur career, and will be making his pro debut Feb 4, 2017 on Top Catz Boxing’s St. Valentine’s Day Massacre card. An excited Sonnier had this to say about his signing, “This is pretty big and pretty exciting. My mom is here supporting me, and I can’t wait to make her and fans proud. I can’t wait to get in the ring to prove to Top Catz they have a great fighter!”
Caudle 5-0 (4 KO’s) also known as the Quiet Storm, is a fighter with devastating power in both hands. Caudle, who did not get into boxing until 2015, is a former MMA fighter. In July, Caudle made a big statement when he KO’d one of North Carolina’s better heavyweights. Caudle possesses great athletic ability, power, heart, and character. Ask anyone and they will most certainly say, “He is a good dude.” A very happy Caudle had this to say, “I’m very excited about this. I have been waiting patiently,. I’ve been going through some things personally, but my family and Coach Massey keep me grounded. I’m just excited, ready to move on, and collect some titles.”
Bryant 2-0 (2KO’s) is a 19 year old fighter with amazing skills and Hollywood looks. He is known as the “Babyface Assassin.” As his step father and founder of Top Catz Boxing Tony Meeks will tell you, many observers who don’t know Bryant’s name call him “That White Boy!” And that is a positive thing, because “that White boy” is usually followed by will whip your … or ain’t nobody to mess with. Bryant, whose amazing ring skills are building a cult like following played with the crowd and had this to say, “I’m excited, and ready to become a world champion.”
