– On Friday, September 9, undefeated light heavyweight prospect Ryan “The Real Deal” Ford (7-0-0, 5KOs) of Edmonton, Alberta, looks to extend his undefeated record against former WBC Mundo Hispano cruiserweight champion Victor Manuel Palacios (13-12-2, 8KOs) of Guadalajara, Mexico, at KO Boxing Promotions big evening of boxing at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. Recently, Mr. Ford took a moment to answer a few questions for the press.
On training camp:
Training camp has been on point. I’ve been in the gym staying ready for anyone, anywhere.
On his MMA career and Palacios’ boxing experience:
Yeah, he has a lot of boxing experience compared to me, but I have 27 professional MMA fights. My MMA has helped with overall fight experience, whether it be in a cage or ring. Plus, I’m used to fighting with 4 oz gloves instead of 10 oz.
On tracking down opponents:
I’m having trouble finding fights period.
On his goals as a boxer:
I don’t have a short term goal really. I’m in this to be the best in the world, so whoever I have to fight to get there and prove that I belong, I’m willing to do so. The world title is what’s on my mind. I believe I’m the best 168-175 pounder in the country and if anyone begs to differ let’s make it happen. Prove me wrong.
On tweaking his game for Palacios:
I haven’t changed anything specifically for Palacios. I have been putting in the work to sharpen my game and make my skills better. I’ve watched a couple fights and know what I can do. So, when I step in the ring, I will set the pace and be in control.
