SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO- World Boxing Organization (WBO), by president Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel, announced today the officials who will work this Saturday, June 21, in the vacant featherweight world title bout between #1 ranked Gary Russell Jr. and the #4 ranked Vasyl Lomachenko, to take place at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, United States, in a Golden Boy Promotions presentation.
For this fight, where the unbeaten Russell Jr. (24-0, 14 KOs), from United States, will fight against former amateur multiple medalist Lomachenko (1-1, 1 KOs), from Ukraine, the referee will be Jack Reiss.
Meanwhile, the judges for the Russell Jr.-Lomachenko bout are Lisa Giampa, Patrick Russell and Max De Luca. The WBO supervisor for this fight will be Richard De Cuir.
The WBO featherweight title became vacant last March 1, 2014, when Lomachenko challenged then champion Orlando Salido, who didn’t make the weight for the fight losing the belt at the scales. Then, Salido beat Lomachenko by split decision.
