Tijuana, Mexico (February 14) – Earlier today evenly matched junior featherweights Jonathan Romero (22-0, 12 KOs) and Alejandro Lopez (24-2, 7KOs) came together in front of the press to speak about their upcoming 12-round battle for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) super bantamweight title that will take place this Saturday, February 16.
Here is what the Colombian junior featherweight had to say about the battle that lies before him against Alejandro Lopez.
“It’s an honor to be here in Mexico again. I had the chance to visit other towns during my amateur career and now as a pro this is the first time that I have visited Tijuana.”
“I am not here as an opponent. I’m not here to lie down. I’m an undefeated Olympian that has worked hard to be here today.”
“I know Alejandro Lopez is an excellent fighter but unlike some other fighters that come here as opponents, I am here to win and to make my country proud.”
Don’t miss the action that is set to go down at the Auditorio Municpal located in Tijuana, Mexico. The excitement will also be televised on UniMas’s Solo Boxeo (Formerly Telefutura) 11:30pm ET/PT.
