December 3rd is quickly approaching and MGM Scotland begin the festive month with an evening of action-packed boxing from the Paisley Lagoon Centre, exclusively live on BoxNation.
Building on the success of Championship Boxing in October, MGM Scotland return with another television date to showcase a stacked card full of quality boxers from throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Local Scottish talent on show includes a mixture of established stars forcing their way into title contention and prospects building their experience. Cruiserweight Stephen ‘Monster’ Simmons is in action after a tremendous performance in Germany back in October. Iain Butcher steps up to the Super-Flyweight division for the first time as he looks to follow up a big win over Thomas Essomba earlier this year with another impressive showing.
Thomas Dickson is hoping to bounce back after a setback in his last outing. Ross Murray attempts to follow up a stoppage victory at the Hydro with another dominant display. Tommy Philbin continues his ascent up the Super-Middleweight rankings as he faces his toughest test to date against Kelvin Young. Ahmed Ibrahim and Paul Kean both continue their boxing journey having recently made their debut and hope to end 2016 with a bang.
Former IBF Bantamweight world champion, Paul Butler, looks to extend his impressive run of form. The Cheshire man has notched up five consecutive victories since losing to Zolani Tete and has recently picked up the WBO International Super-Flyweight title. Undefeated Light-Welterweight star, Jack Catterall, also features on the stacked bill. Boasting a record of 16-0, Catterall has served his apprenticeship and is targeting huge domestic clashes in the new year. Liverpool’s Steven Lewis is also navigating his way through the Light-Welterweight division and has been flawless so far, another win will set him up for a title shot in early 2017.
Ireland is well represented as both Jono ‘King Kong’ Carroll and Stephen ‘The Rock’ Ormond step into the ring. Carroll is currently unbeaten and has picked up some impressive victories at an early stage in his career. Stephen Ormond suffered disappointment in his last MGM Scotland appearance however, the Dublin man bounced back in fine style with a dominant victory in Belfast and will be determined to end 2016 with consecutive victories.
With twelve boxers scheduled to feature at Lights Out this one promises to be a blockbuster bill, tickets are available from all boxers or through Ticketmaster –
