Leading boxing television rights distributor and sports marketing firm Octapixx LIVE is pleased to announce that the May 10 WBC Heavyweight Championship of the World boxing telecast, which saw Bermane Stiverne defeat Chris Arreola via a sixth round technical knockout to become the world champion, was seen in over 150 countries around the world.
Promoted by Don King Productions and Goossen Tutor Promotions, the Stiverne-Arreola telecast ushered in a new era in the heavyweight division as both fighters put on a fantastic display in the ring. Arreola commanded respect for the majority of the bout but it was Stiverne that emerged victorious when referee Jack Reiss stopped the bout with 58 seconds left in the sixth round, after Stiverne had knocked down Arreola twice with several well-placed shots.
The event was accessible by television households all over the world, with the domestic USA broadcast produced by ESPN which transmitted the telecast to its affiliates in North and South America and Australia/New Zealand, while Octapixx LIVE marketed and distributed the event to broadcasters all over Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia.
“May 10 was the best heavyweight championship fight in recent memory,” says Octapixx LIVE Vice President Lowell Conn. “Both Stiverne and Arreola demonstrated to worldwide audiences that they are true warriors, and Octapixx LIVE is pleased to have played in a key role in ensuring that the world was watching.”
