Willie Casey set for Dublin Return
Pro boxing returns to the Capital City for the first time in over a year this November 3rd, with a bumper bill headlined by Limerick’s ‘Big Bang’ Willie Casey and Dublin’s Anthony ‘the Pride’ Fitzgerald.
Emerald Promotions, Ireland’s most prolific boxing promoter of recent times, have teamed up with the newly formed Dublin based KO Promotions to bring an end to professional boxing’s fifteen month absence from Dublin.
Tallaght’s National Basketball Arena will host the highly anticipated Dublin return of former European Champion and World Title challenger Willie Casey. Having overcame Jason Booth to land the WBA European super bantamweight title in July, Casey will hope to build on his recent success at the south Dublin venue.
The other half of the co-main event will see ‘Northsider’ Anthony Fitzgerald make his ring return following a contentious Prizefighter defeat to eventual tournament winner Eamonn O’Kane at the Kings Hall in Belfast a little over five months ago. The former WBF Intercontinental and EBA middleweight strap holder will be looking to make a return to winning ways in his native city.
Fight fans will also be treated to a clash for the Irish super featherweight title involving the big hitting Belfast prospect Anthony Cacace while his stable-mate Joe Hillerby will also be fighting for honours.
Further details of the exciting Dublin fight night will be revealed over the coming weeks in what promises to be an action packed night of professional boxing.
With the promoter’s set on encouraging fight fans to come out and support Irish boxing after its long absence from Dublin, they have pitched ticket prices at a level they hope will ensure a full house.
Tickets for the “Rumble in Dublin” fight night priced at €25 & €35 will go on sale from September 25th via www.greenjab.ie & http://www.emeraldboxingpromotions.com.
