Nathan Millier vs. Ken Ball Jr. on December 2

On Friday, December 2, Nathan Millier (9-0-1, 7KOs) steps through the ropes at the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island, for what promises to be the toughest test of his young career. Known as the “Timberwolf” to fans, Millier takes on CES prospect Ken Ball Jr. (4-0-1, 3KOS) in a six round middleweight tilt with career altering implications. The fight is part of a stacked nine-fight card headlined by Toka Khan-Mario Antonio Macias.

Hailing from Elsipitog, New Brunswick, Canada, Millier has fought stateside on one previous occasion, scoring a TKO2 over Borngood Johnathan last November in Connecticut. Since his successful American debut, Millier has earned victories over kickboxing standout Joey Young and local rival Robbie Cameron. “I’m building a legacy,” explained Millier. “Ball is off to a good start in his boxing career, but now he’s in my way. He’s never faced someone like me.”

Fighting out of Worcester, Massachusetts, Ball exploded onto the New England fight scene in 2016, racking up an impressive five fights in eleven months, including three big stoppage wins. Ball is no stranger at the Twin River Casino, fighting and winning at the venue on four previous occasions, including his recent shutout decision victory over the more experienced Rafael Valencia. Prior to turning professional, Ball was a standout on the New England amateur scene, amassing about thirty amateur bouts before entering the punch-for-pay business.

Although Ball will enjoy a home ring advantage of sorts and the undeniable benefits of an amateur pedigree, the edge in pro experience goes to Millier. The Canadian boasts twice as many professional fights as Ball and three fights that went beyond the fourth round. This will be Ball’s first appearance in a scheduled six rounder.

The Millier-Ball contest is presented by CES Promotions, in association with Dibella Entertainment and Top Rank Promotions. Tickets beginning at $47 can be purchased at www.cesboxing.com or by calling 401-724-2253/2254.
