Former WBO world title challenger Brian “The Beast” Minto (37-5 24 kos) gained the NABA US Heavyweight Title Saturday after stopping veteran Mike Sheppard (20-14) early at the Mountaineer Casino in West Virginia. Using a sustained body attack and superior skills, Minto floored Sheppard 3 times in the third round before finally ending the bout with an overhand right at 2:22 of the 4th round. With the victory, Minto extended his unbeaten streak in regional WBA heavyweight titles to 6-0 and is now looking for another major fight.
