MGM are proud to announce the signing of British Light-Middleweight Champion Liam “Beefy” Smith. The 26-year-old is ranked No.5 by IBF and No.7 by WBO. MGM has agreed a new managerial contract with Liam and is looking forward to pushing him to a world title shot within the next 12 months.
Liam said today on signing, “I am really pleased to have MGM onboard alongside Frank Warren.” Frank is a Hall of Fame promoter and consistently delivers world title fights on home soil for his fighters. MGM and Frank Warren have proved by working together they get results by delivering a world title opportunity for Derry Matthews. Liam knows Matthew Macklin well and having seen him fight all over the world for world titles, he knows he is in good hands.
MGM´s Daniel Kinahan said today “With Liam being with Joe Gallagher I know he is highly motivated; he has proved he is the best in Britain and we believe he will go on to win world titles. When he fights the likes of Ishe Smith, Carlos Molina and Cornelius Bundrage he will capture the American public´s imagination with his style of boxing. We are hoping to give him his US debut this year. Now its time for him to concentrate on his boxing and leave everything else to MGM and Frank Warren.”
Liam Smith is next out on March 6th under his trainer Joe Gallagher, this will be his first outing with MGM as his management team.
