After the success of Scott Quigg’s recent boxing workshop at Hatton Health and Fitness it’s now Martin Murray’s turn to put fight fans through their paces.
The St Helens ace has agreed to take time out of his busy training schedule and pass on his expertise to a class of eager keep fitters this Saturday afternoon (March 30).
During the three hour session Martin will go through a full range of punching and fitness techniques with the hope that participants can use them in their own regimes.
Martin is currently preparing for the biggest fight of his career, a showdown with the world’s number one middleweight Sergio Martinez in Argentina on April27, but he believes it’s important to give something back.
“I like teaching boxing. I’m currently doing my ABA coaching courses and I like speaking to passionate people and showing them what it takes to be a professional boxer,” he said.
“I feel very humbled and privileged that people want to come and have a session with me. I’m going to put 100 per cent into it.
“Hopefully I can pass on a bit of knowledge and help them with their own training techniques.”
On completion of the workshop, those taking part will be able to socialise with Martin and obtain autographs and photos.
All places for this weekend’s workshop have now been taken but Hatton Academy will announce details of similar events in due course.
