Lorenzo ‘Truck’ Simpson Opens Up On Life In Boxing

Lorenzo ‘Truck’ Simpson is regarded as one of the best prospects in the world – and you can get to know more about his incredible journey right here.

American sensation Simpson (8-0, 5 KOs) signed with MTK Global earlier this month, with the move met by critical acclaim due to the incredible talents that he possesses.

You can find out more about Simpson in the above video, where he discusses his fascinating life growing up, and his career in the sport to date.

Simpson said: “I grew up in Baltimore and it’s still tough out there, but I’m used to it. I’ve been different my whole life. If people didn’t understand me or see the vision, then that’s on them.

“I’ve been professional for 18 months, I don’t worry about my amateur career anymore. I was one of best in the world which was cool, but that’s in the past now, and I’m going to show the world how I am as a professional.

“My coach gave me the name ‘Truck.’ It’s stayed with me and it will lead to many big things. I don’t feel the pressure, it comes when you don’t believe in yourself, but this has been my dream my whole life and I’ve been grinding for it and working.

“I owe a lot to my uncle Raheem. We go the whole way together, and without me there isn’t him, and without him there isn’t me, we are like a package.

“Signing with MTK Global is amazing. They’ll help build me and push me along and move me towards becoming the legend and champion that I need to be.

“MTK Global have got the best people in boxing, with that being Tyson Fury, Billy Joe Saunders, Josh Taylor, Michael Conlan and all those guys. Being the first US signing is a historical moment.

“We’re going to step up soon, and it will be fights in America and internationally. I’m trying to be a worldwide name so this move is great. I love the UK, and whenever I’m on social media, the UK fans are always supporting me.

“I want to build a bigger fan base over there, so to be a star in two countries would be amazing. My time is coming.”

Simpson is set to return to the ring later this month, taking on fellow unbeaten fighter Sonny Duversonne live on CBS Sports, in what is expected to be yet another can’t-miss fight.
