The welterweight contender is slated to return to the ring to live up to his “Riverside Rocky” moniker
Riverside, CA, March 12, 2014 – Lopez (31 – 6, 18 KO) is set to fight against Aaron Martinez (19 – 2 – 1, 4 KO) April, 24th 2014 at Agua Caliente Casino and will be televised on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes. Lopez, although having lost two of his last three fights, returned to the “win” column during his match against Mike Arnaoutis this past December. Lopez settled for a technical decision win when the fight was stopped after the eighth round.
Arnaoutis received a cut over his eye and was deemed unfit to continue the fight. Lopez knew he had to return to tip top form to be elevated back to his fan-given nickname of Riverside Rocky. Since December, Lopez has been training hard and is definitely on the comeback trail. “I’m really excited to get back in the ring. I am training harder and longer than recent fights not only because I think Martinez will be a tough challenge but because that iswhat’s needed from me to be where I want to be.”, Lopez stated. This upcoming Lopez/Martinez bout is an opportunity for Lopez to live up to just that and get his momentum back. Fans have no doubt that he will do just that.
