Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has heaped huge praise on Brian Rose for the dedication he has shown during training ahead of his return to the ring at the Liverpool Olympia tonight.
Rose (30-5-1) fights on this evening’s #MTKFightNight show live on iFL TV, and will have MMA legend Rampage there to support him. The duo spent several weeks training together with coach Bobby Rimmer in California, and Rampage was extremely impressed with what he saw.
He said: “I’ve had a great time watching Brian train. He trains so hard and inspires me to get back in there and push it to the limit. He’s followed his diet flawlessly and produced some great strength and conditioning work, so he’s looked unstoppable.
“I’ve known him for a couple years but we’ve never spent this much time together. I knew he was a great guy from the first time I met him, and any friend of Bobby Rimmer is a friend of mine.
“I’ve come over here to England and Brian is looking over me. I’ve been hanging out in Blackpool which has been a nice experience, and I want to spend more time here.
“I’ll be there watching Brian’s fight tonight. I was there the night when Brian won a title in the past and that was exciting for me to see, so I’m looking forward to his fight.”
Promising Birmingham featherweight Raza Hamza is primed to seize his chance on Friday night’s #MTKFightNight in Liverpool – live on iFL TV.
Hamza (11-0-1, 6 KOs) is itching to get back in the ring for the first time in six months having blasted Johnson Tellez aside in Leicester last time out.
With the domestic scene abuzz, Hamza aims to kick off a surge into the UK’s top 10 at the Olympia.
He said: “I believe I’m one of the hottest prospects out there. It’s wrong for a fighter not to believe in himself in that way.
“I’ll fight any featherweight MTK Global put forward to me because I strive to be the best and I believe I can be.
“I’m very excited to be fighting in Liverpool. I really love the Liverpool fans and hope to put on a show for them. I’m expecting a very good atmosphere in there.
“This iFL TV platform is very important for all the MTK Global fighters and now there’s the deal with ESPN+ in place too, there are even bigger incentives for us to perform.”
Undefeated featherweight Raza Hamza is determined to seize the limelight when he fights on Friday’s #MTKFightNight in Liverpool – live on iFL TV.
The promising Birmingham starlet (11-0-1, 6 KOs) heads for the Olympia looking to make a statement against Edwin Tellez and step up his pursuit for a maiden professional title.
Hamza, who has not fought since October, said: “I believe I’m ready for titles now and I’ll take any opportunity given to me by MTK Global. I can’t wait to become a champion.
“Being out of the ring for this long has taught me to stay patient and just wait for the opportunity.
“I’ve been in camp a long time and I’ve been working very hard. In this boxing game, it’s not all highs – you can have very low lows – but I’m ready to fight again and looking forward to it.
“This platform is great for us fighters. It’s very important that iFL TV get behind their boys and help them. There’s also the Top Rank and ESPN+ deal MTK Global have done, which is huge.”
Hamza looked impressive in downing Johnson Tellez with a devastating body shot in Leicester last time out.
Joining the 26-year-old on a busy night in Liverpool are the likes of Olympic history-maker Tasha Jonas, Jazza Dickens challenging for a Commonwealth title shot, former world title challenger Brian Rose and many more.
Jazza Dickens is honored to be returning to Liverpool for the first time in over three years as he prepares to face Nasibu Ramadhan in a final eliminator for the Commonwealth featherweight title at the Olympia on April 19.
Dickens (25-3) is the main event as #MTKFightNight returns to Merseyside, with Dickens back at the venue where he made his professional debut.
That bout was on the undercard of a Derry Mathews fight, and with Mathews now in the corner of Dickens, the Liverpool star feels everything has come full circle as he prepares to represent his city.
Dickens said: “Liverpool is my home. I love this place and my first professional fight was in the Olympia on the undercard of Derry Mathews.
“It was ram packed and was unbelievable. Since then I’ve topped bills and won titles at the Olympia, but this time I’m going back to the Olympia with Derry in my corner to fight for my city.
“When I say I love Liverpool I really mean I have a passion for the people in my city. I love them as they are the salt of the earth, and the support has been bigger than ever before.
“I couldn’t tell you why that is but I have really taken off since going away for a while, and I can only keep repeating myself but thank you Liverpool. It’s the best feeling headlining, and I soak it all up.
“I enjoy the warm up, the ring walk, the announcement, the referee’s instructions, the fight, the corner instructions and the hugs and kisses afterwards! I hope that Liverpool know the words to Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel, because it’s going to be an incredible atmosphere.”
The event at the Liverpool Olympia also features a number of exciting stars, including Brian Rose, Tasha Jonas, JJ Meltcalf, Alex Dickinson, Raza Hamza and many more.
