Illness has ruled Troy James out of a British Masters title shot next month.
The Coventry-born super featherweight was originally scheduled to meet Chris Male in a British Title Eliminator fight on September 14th. However, a freak calf injury forced Male to pull out, leaving James set for a shot at a Masters strap. However, James has been laid low with a bug and is also off the bill.
“It’s a shame for Troy but the show will go on,” explained Promoter, Errol Johnson. “Three fights are already scheduled and I’m working hard on replacing Troy with another contest.”
The dinner show, which takes at the Copthorne Hotel, Merry Hill/Dudley on Saturday, 14th September, features a trio of Black Country boxers.
Dudley’s undefeated light-middleweight, Kyle Spencer (6-0), takes on durable Isle of Wight veteran, Jay Morris whilst Stourbridge’s former Midlands Area Welterweight Champion, Steven Pearce (7-2), makes a welcome return to the ring against Birmingam’s Andrew Patterson.
Gornal prospect Lance Brooks (2-0) also features on the One Promotions Boxing Dinner Show. Tickets are priced at £55 to include a three-course meal and VIP Ringside tables (of ten) are available at £100 per person to include a three-course meal and complimentary bottles of wine.
