Haywood Gets Help From Former Champ Dunstan For Oct 25th Pro Debut

Gianluca Di Caro - October 20, 2014

On Saturday 25th October Jerome Haywood, one of the newest young stars from the TRAD TKO Boxing Gym, is set to make his professional debut, against Lithuania’s Rolandas Cesna, on the Dave Murphy Acourtier Events promoted CAPITAL PUNISHMENT mega event at the York Hall in Bethnal Green, London, which is headlined by TRAD TKO gym mate Marianne Marston’s challenge for the MBC International title.

Jerome, who is trained by Brian O’Shaughnessy at the famous East End fight factory, has a well known training and sparring partner, no less than former British & European Cruiserweight Champion and World title challenger Terry Dunstan, to help prepare him for the big day.

Following one of the aforementioned sessions Jerome spoke briefly about his upcoming professional debut.

“To be honest I’m really looking forward to it.

From what I know of my opponent he’s a good competent fighter, he comes to fight so I need to be on my game, hopefully It’ll be a great fight for the fans.

Training’s gone really well, it’s a learning process for me and it really seems to be all coming together at just the right time.

Same with the sparring, you can’t get better than down here, there’s always great sparring. For my fight I have been sparring Onder Ozgul and Manny Muhammad, who are also both fighting on the 25th

My good friend Terry Dunstan has been training alongside me so has also been giving me some great advice, as well as some sparring.

It’s been really good sparring, I’ve been learning how to deal with different styles and attributes.

Mind you, you can’t get better than that Terry to work alongside, he’s a former champ and he has the fastest recorded knockout, I’m not saying expect a quick knockout from me but if it happens I’ll be really happy.
