Tipton’s Lee Glover has been enjoying world champion class sparring as he prepares to take on a former world title challenger and European Number One at Walsall Town Hall later this month.
‘The Tipton Slasher’ travelled to Joe Gallagher’s gym in Bolton to spar WBA super bantamweight title holder , Scott Quigg, recently.
Quigg is preparing for a fourth defence of his title against Hidenori Otake on 22nd November whilst Glover is preparing to take on Esham ‘Brown Sugar’ Pickering a week later at the top of Black Country Boxing’s Bad Blood in the Black Country show.
“It was a great experience,” Glover told www.uko-boxing.com. “Scott is at the top of his game and it was a pleasure to share a ring with him.
“I’m feeling really good about my fight now.”
Glover versus Pickering takes place on the same night as ‘Bad Blood: Dereck Chisora vs. Tyson Fury’ in London – Saturday, 29th November.
Halesowen super middleweight prospect, Lennox Clarke, is also in action as he looks to extend his unbeaten start to life as a professional boxer.
Fresh from his British Eliminator victory over Ronnie ‘The Shark’ Clark, Troy ‘Terrifying’ James is also making an appearance. The Midlands Area Super Featherweight Champion is keeping himself ticking over as he awaits a shot at the Lord Lonsdale belt.
Birmingham super featherweight, Sean ‘Showtime’ Davis and Coventry cruiserweight, Joe Sheriff, also feature.
Western Counties Senior Elite ABA Champion, Adam Harper, and Dudley super featherweight, Ryan Corrigan, complete the bill after making the decision to join the paid ranks at light middleweight whilst former British Lightweight Champion, Martin Gethin, is set to make a guest appearance.
Bad Blood in the Black Country will finish in time for boxing fans to make their way to The Pitch Sports Bar and Grill on Bridge Street, Walsall, where the Chisora versus Fury fight will be shown live on Giant Screens. Fight fans will be able to gain free entry into Walsall premier night spot on production of their boxing ticket.
