Tipton’s Lee Glover admits it will be a privilege to share a ring with former British, Commonwealth and European Champion, Esham ‘Brown Sugar’ Pickering when the pair clash at Walsall Town Hall later this month.
However, the ‘Tipton Slasher’ insists he will put his admiration to one side and won’t be in awe of the former World Title Challenger as he looks to add his name to his list of scalps.
“Pickering has had a great career,” Glover told www.uko-boxing. “He’s achieved a lot but, with respect, he’s coming to the end now. He’s a great name to have on my record and I’m confident of beating him.
“He’s still a threat but I think I’ll be too strong, too quick and too young for him. It’s a great match though. I’m looking forward to it”
Bad Blood in the Black Country takes place on the same night as ‘Bad Blood: Dereck Chisora vs. Tyson Fury’ in London – Saturday, 29th November.
Also in action at Walsall Town Hall is Halesowen super middleweight prospect, Lennox Clarke. The 23 year-old, fresh from his 14 second KO of Raimonds Sniedze last Friday, takes part in his first six-round contest.
Birmingham super featherweight, Sean ‘Showtime’ Davis, and Coventry cruiserweight, Joe Sheriff, are also in action.
Western Counties Senior Elite ABA Champion, Adam Harper, will be looking to build on his impressive professional debut last Friday whilst Midlands Area Super Featherweight Champion, Troy James, is also in action.
Dudley super featherweight, Ryan Corrigan, completes the card whilst former British Lightweight Champion, Martin Gethin, will make a guest appearance.
Bad Blood in the Black Country will finish in time for boxing fans to make their way to The Pitch Sports Bar and Grill on Bridge Street, Walsall, where the Chisora versus Fury fight will be shown live on Giant Screens. Fight fans will be able to gain free entry into Walsall premier night spot on production of their boxing ticket.
Tickets, priced at £30 and £50 Ringside, are available from Walsall Town Hall Box Office on 0845 111 2900. The aftershow party and weigh-in both take place at the Pitch Sports Bar and Grill on Bridge Street, Walsall.
