Glove Controversy Surrounds Mayweather vs. Maidana

“There were some issues about the gloves; more specifically the padding, or the lack thereof, of the gloves…those customized gloves, which were in the Argentinian colors, those were ruled by the Commission as not conforming, so those are not allowed, but then other Everlast gloves were produced…those were all okay by the Commission, so now I think, basically, the teams are just working out which ones…everything will be okay…”I’m sure a fair solution will be found,” stated Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, who commented on the ongoing glove controversy ahead of Saturday’s scheduled clash between undefeated WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather and WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana.

“Name specific, I’m not caught up into that…I’m not saying he gotta wear this type…as long as it has padding in it. That’s all I care about,” stated Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe, who debated with members of Team Maidana about the ongoing glove controversy currently that has tomorrow’s fight in jeopardy.

“No wonder why he’s hitting m******rs and they falling everywhere…they ain’t have no padding in them…no wonder why fighters is dying on the regular…We supposed to be hear protecting the fighters,” stated undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd “Money” Mayweather, who shared his thoughts on the ongoing glove controversy that currently has his fight with WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana in jeopardy.

“One thing we not going to do, we not going to pull no snake bullshit…put him in the same shit as me…we gonna be on an even playing field,” stated undefeated WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather, who was not pleased after trying on the gloves that WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana wants to use for their upcoming title unification. According to Mayweather and his team, the gloves in question did not have the required padding in them. Check out the scene as the controversy erupted.
