On Saturday night, WBA Lightweight world champion Darleys Perez (32-1-1, 20 KOs) and challenger Anthony Crolla (29-4-3, 11 KOs), fight for the second time inside of five months from the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
During Thursday’s final press conference, both boxers seemed confident of victory after their July affair ended in a controversial majority draw.
“Sometimes the sequel is better than the original,” said the Colombian born Perez. “I’ve been preparing for a war and that’s exactly what I’m expecting from Crolla. I don’t care what happened in the first fight. I’m going to win on Saturday night, proving to everyone that I’m the better boxer.”
Crolla, who will be fighting in his hometown, appeared poised and ready for the challenge of dethroning Perez, who is co-promoted by Thompson Boxing Promotions and Gary Shaw Productions.
“This time I feel the fight will be more explosive, with more exchanges and could end up being a bit of a dog-fight,” Crolla told Sky Sports, the event’s local broadcast partner. “It’ll be entertaining for the fans and viewers at home.”
U.S.boxing fans can enjoy the explosive rematch on AWE available on AT&T U-Verse, CH. 147 and 1147 in HD, Verizon FiOS TV, CH. 169 and 669 in HD, and numerous regional cable providers across the nation. Please check www.awetv.com for start times.
