SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO- World Boxing Organization (WBO), by president Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel, announced today the officials who will work this Saturday, June 28, in the first defense of the lightweight champion Terence Crawford against the #6 ranked Yuriorkis Gamboa, to be held at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska, United States, in a Top Rank presentation.
In this bout, when Crawford (23-0, 16 KOs), from United States, will defend for the first time his WBO 135 pounds belt against the former world champion Gamboa (23-0, 16 KOs), from Cuba, the referee will be Genaro “Gino” Rodriguez.
The three judges for the fight between Crawford and Gamboa are Levi Martinez, Dennis Nelson and Robert Hecko. The WBO supervisor for this fight will be John Duggan.
The Nebraska native Crawford won the WBO lightweight crown when he beat then champion Ricky Burns last March 1, 2014, by unanimous decision in Scotland, United Kingdom.
