Tampa, FL; Armando “Ichiro Ozeki” Torres is full speed ahead of his title clash this Friday night, which will air live on Telemundo 12am/est from the Bryan Glazer JCC Center in Tampa,FL. Torres will be facing world ranked contender WBA #12 IBF #5 WBO #4 Jonathan “Bomba” Gonzalez(23-3-1) of Caguas, Puerto Rico for the WBO/NABO Jr flyweight title over 10 rounds. On early Wedensday Morning, Torres worked out for the media and added a few words ahead of his fight.

On His Debut in the United States…

There is no better feeling then fighting at home, in front of your home crowd with people cheering you on but we feel no pressure in fighting outside our comfort zone. I have fought plenty of times outside of Mexico, when I lived in Japan for 8 years I did multiple fights and never let the crowd get to me.

What is your Game plan on Friday night?

I am known as a Puncher/Brawler but I can adapt to any style, later in my career I have learned to box if I have to but I can also stand in the pocket and exchange. We are ready for anything Gonzalez plans to bring.

What does this fight mean for you at this stage in your career?

This fight means the world to me, with a win, I get to fight for the world title which is my ultimate dream. I come from a fighting family, my uncle German Torres is a former WBC champion, my sisters and brothers are all fighters. This will be something wonderful for my family watching back home.

Who do you dedicate you fight on Friday Night for?

On Friday night I will dedicate this performance to my 7-year old son who has started training boxing. I want to inspire him to be a great in this sport and never give up your dream.
