Baltimore, MD (May 17, 2014) – Jake “The Snake” Smith’s Baltimore Boxing Promotions returns to the Myers Pavilion Saturday, May 31 for “Snap Crackle & Pop”.
An Olympic-style boxing card sponsored by Rew Materials, advance tickets for “Snap, Crackle & Pop” start at $25 and can be purchased by calling 410-375-9175. Baltimore Boxing Promotions will also host a special 50/50 raffle and a silent sports memorabilia auction throughout the evening, with proceeds benefitting the Baltimore Animal Resume and Care Shelter (BARCS).
Doors open at 6:30 pm and the opening bell is scheduled for 8.
Headlining the card is a match up between talented middleweight Jerome Featherstone and Washington, DC’s Francisco Bustos. A star wrestler in high school and college, Featherstone won the 2013 Golden Gloves Championship in the ultra difficult Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC region only fifteen months after first putting on a pair of boxing gloves.
For the co-featured bout of the evening, Baltimoreans Joel Baker and “J Rock” Braggs will square off. In addition to local bragging rights, the winner of Baker-Braggs claims the inaugural BARCS Honorary Championship Belt, which is sponsored by Diamond Detail.
In undercard action, Adrian Stedding, Kevin Bowen and Donald Wallace will appear in separate bouts. Other fights will be announced shortly.
“I’m honored to be working with BARCS,” said Smith, who has helped raise money by teaming up with a number of local nonprofit organizations during the last few years. “BARCS needs all of the help they can get to maintain the facility and provide food and care for their animals. There are a lot of abused and neglected animals out there who need a home and BARCS takes them in with open arms. I hope they are able to find good homes for these animals and future donations come in to help this great organization.”
