With his eighth professional fight on the horizon, Andrew ‘D’Animal’ Robinson is ready to take another small step on a journey that is leading into the unknown.
The Redditch super middleweight appears on It’s-A-Bout-Boxing’s ‘Friday, 13th’ Show at The Institute, Digbeth, Birmingham on Friday, 13th September.
The 28 year-old has made a solid start to life in the paid ranks. He is 7-0, with two wins coming by way of knockout, but is insistent on taking one small step at a time.
“I don’t want to jump the gun,” he told www.uko-boxing.com. “I just train hard for each fight and whatever comes, comes.
“I’m not getting carried away and will take it one step at a time.”
‘D’Animal’ is a changed man. Before finding boxing, his life was heading in a different direction. With strong faith in God and a loving, supportive family, Robinson has traded the unruly life of crime for a life of discipline, devotion and, of course, the sweet science.
“I’ve had a hard life,” he admitted. “I’ve done bad things. Things I wouldn’t even dream of doing now.
“Not anything I’m proud of but it is my life. It is what happened and that’s what makes me so strong today.”
Friday 13th should be another stepping stone in the right direction.
