Earlier today, in Corpus Christi, Tex. a heated weigh-in between junior middleweight contenders Vanes Martirosyan (33-0-1, 21 KO’s) and Demetrius Andrade (19-0, 13 KO’s) went down.
On Saturday night, the two men will battle for the vacant WBO junior middleweight championship on HBO’s airwaves. After weighing in, with each man coming in at 153.75 pounds, Martirosyan and Andrade faced off with one another and began trading words.
After a few verbal jabs, the two men traded shoves before the alteration was broken up. Tune in to HBO tomorrow night to watch the fight play out.
The Official Public Weigh-In for this Saturday night’s WBO Junior Middleweight World Championship between top rated contenders Demetrius Andrade and Vanes Martirosyan was held today in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Andrade, 19-0-0 (13KO’s) of Providence, Rhode Island and Martirosyan, 33-0-1 (21KO’s), of Glendale, California both weighed-in at 153.75, just under the junior middleweight limit. Following the weigh-in, a brief scuffle broke out during the obligatory stare down.
The Andrade/Martirosyan scheduled 12-rounder will be telecast Live on HBO® from the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. The broadcast will start at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
