Deontay Wilder: Price was too cautious; he needs a conditioning coach

Unbeaten heavyweight talent Deontay Wilder (28-0, 28 KO’s) think David Price (15-2, 13 KO’s) needs work on his conditioning so that he won’t run out of gas in the future like he did last Saturday night in his 5th round TKO loss to Tony Thompson (38-3, 26 KO’s). Wilder also thinks Price needs to be a little less cautious when he fights.

Fury: Hughie is ready to fight David Price in September; he’d beat him

fury564534After watching heavyweight David Price (15-2, 13 KO’s) gas out and get stopped in the 5th round last Saturday night by Tony Thompson (38-3, 26 KO’s), undefeated Tyson Fury thinks his cousin 18-year-old Hughie Fury (6-0, 4 KO’s) has the skills and the power to defeat Price if he’s open to fighting the 6’6’ Hughie in September. It’s unclear how serious the offer is from Fury, but if it’s a serious one it would be a tremendous test for the inexperienced Hughie.

Tyson Fury said on his social media site: “@hughiefury is ready for Price in September. Hughie would do Price.”

Price doesn’t plan on retiring

No one would blame heavyweight David Price (15-2, 13 KO’s) is he were to choose to retire from the sport following his 5th round stoppage defeat the hands of Tony Thompson (38-3, 26 KO’s) last Saturday night, but that’s not what Price intends on doing.

Tony Thompson wants Vitali or Tyson Fury next

Fresh off his easy 5th round stoppage win over the previously highly hyped heavyweight David Price (15-2, 13 KO’s) from Britain, Tony Thompson (38-3, 26 KO’s) is now looking for some much bigger game in the form of WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko for a title shot.

Lewis: We just need to fix David Price’s stamina problems

thompson111Lennox Lewis figures that all British heavyweight David Price (15-2, 13 Ko’s) needs is to have his stamina problem fixed and he’ll be okay after his second straight defeat to 41-year-old Tony Thompson (38-3, 26 KO’s) last Saturday night at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, UK.

Thompson stopped an exhausted Price in the 5th round after battering him with a rain of hard shots in the 4th and 5th round until referee had seen enough and stopped the contest.

Twice for Price: The sequel at the Echo Arena

By Andrew Picken: Boxing don’t you just love it. Last night another drama worthy of any Eastenders or Coronation Street Script unfolded with the unthinkable happening … Price stopped again. Inevitably the criticisms will start rolling in thick and fast, I have my opinion but let’s be honest hindsight is a wonderful skill. Besides I like Price he comes across, articulated, intelligent and composed outside of the ring and this loss will be a really difficult time for promoter and fighter.

Strategy For Canelo Alvarez Against Mayweather!

This is the fight that Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KO’s) has been waiting for his entire boxing career. If he can be victorious he will be the new mega star in the boxing world and a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26 KO’s) would pay tremendous dividends. On the other hand, if he were to lose, this fight still does a lot for his career.

Price gasses out and gets stopped by Thompson

price78American heavyweight Tony Thompson (38-3, 26 KO’s) destroyed David Price (15-2, 13 KO’s) tonight by a 5th round TKO in Liverpool, England and he may have badly crippled his career in the process. Thompson said he wasn’t surprised that Price was lured into a slugfest with him, because he didn’t think Price’s new trainer Lennox Lewis would be able to make enough changes to his fighting style in one camp to beat him.

Thompson said to Sky after the fight “Lewis is probably going to be a great trainer and teacher, but he only had one training camp with the guy. He’s not going to get that style with one training camp. Lewis didn’t get it one time when he was working with Emmanuel. I knew he wasn’t going to get it using a second hand Emmanuel like Lennox Lewis.”
