Ghana’s Isaac ‘Royal Storm’ Dogboe put up a dominant show culminating in a round 5 stoppage of Mexican challenger, Cesar Juarez in their clash for the WBO interim world super bantamweight title in Accra on Saturday night.
Undefeated Dogboe improved his unblemished record to 18-0 courtesy the 12th knockout of his rapidly rising professional career whilst condemning Juarez to the 6th defeat of his now 26-fight career (20-6, 15 KOs).
While unbeaten former heavyweight champ (still lineal) Tyson Fury continues to call out reigning WBA/IBF champ Anthony Joshua for his first fight back – the return expected, Fury says, in either April or May – Joshua has replied by stating how this is mere “fantasy” on the part of Fury.
Fury, 25-0, who has hurled all manner of insults at Joshua, 20-0, has questioned whether or not AJ “has the balls” to fight him. In response, Joshua has told the Daily Mail how if it were up to him, he would fight Fury next – but that he cannot do so as, “he’s just not fit, he hasn’t had a fight.”
Last night in front of his adoring fans in Accra, Ghana – in the first “world” title fight of 2018 – unbeaten warrior Isaac Dogboe won a thrilling action fight with Mexico’s Cesar Juarez. Dogboe, 18-0(12) weathered a hellish early storm from the 20-6(15) Juarez to come on and get the stoppage in round-five.

Both hunting another shot at the coveted world title, these two tough guys went at it in simply crazy fashion; the pair caring nothing for defence as they traded leather – and knockdowns.
WBC heavyweight king Deontay Wilder is in a mood to not only break opponents, and their bones, but also world records. Wilder, currently unbeaten with impressive 39-0 numbers (all but one of his wins coming via stoppage) says he can “easily” top Floyd Mayweather’s astonishing 50-0 pro record; Floyd actually besting heavyweight immortal Rocky Marciano’s magic 49-0 number this year (some say with an asterisk firmly placed alongside the 50-0 due to the fact that Mayweather picked up his “final” win against a boxing novice).

According to Mikey Garcia the big title fight unification showdown between he and Jorge Linares will still happen, this summer – this despite the fact that both 135 pound champions will fight against separate opposition in January and February respectively. Unbeaten Garcia will look to capture his fourth title in as many weight divisions when he will challenge Sergey Lipinets for a 140 pound belt on Feb. 10, while Linares will defend his lightweight belt against Mercito Gesta on January 27.
