Bojado To Battle Undefeated Prospect On May 10

NEW YORK, NY (March 27, 2003) - Highly-acclaimed jr. welterweight prospect Francisco "Panchito" Bojado will battle undefeated prospect William Adamyan in an eight round jr. welterweight co-feature bout on May 10 at the Pechanga Resort in Temecula, CA, it was announced today by Main Events CEO Kathy Duva. The bout will be broadcast live on NBC as part of the "Budweiser Boxing Series."

Bojado (11-1, 10 KO's) has stopped five opponents in the first round. The 19-year-old Guadalajara, Mexico native was the youngest member of the 2000 Mexican Olympic Team. In 2001 USA Today selected him as their "Prospect of the Year." In his last bout on Feb 1, 2003, Bojado stopped Frankie Santos in 10 rounds (TKO 10).

Adamyan (9-0, 3 KO's) has stopped his last two opponents, both within four rounds. The 20-year old Glendale, CA native turned pro on Nov 19, 2000, decisioning Ismael Quintero (W 4).

On three consecutive Saturday afternoons - May 3, 10 and 17 - NBC Sports and Telemundo will provide live coverage from the same Main Events-promoted boxing event. Telemundo will air a live fight in Spanish from 2:30-3:30 p.m. ET. NBC Sports, which has not televised professional boxing since 1992, will broadcast its live boxing card from 3:30-5 p.m. ET.

The "Budweiser Boxing Series" is an innovative joint venture between NBC Sports, Telemundo and boxing promotional group Main Events. The agreement calls for live, boxing broadcasts on NBC and Telemundo, as well as a revenue-sharing business relationship that includes integrated advertising and sponsorships.

Budweiser is the series lead sponsor for both NBC and Telemundo.
