Puerto Rico´s Johnny Rivera to rumble with Jermain Taylor on Nov 9

18.10 - JOHNNY RIVERA, from Dorado, Puerto Rico, has stepped up to face undefeated 2000 U.S. Olympian Jermain Taylor on the pay-per-view extravaganza, "Real Fights!", at the beautiful Mountaineer Race Track and Gaming Resort in Chester, WV.

Taylor and Rivera will rumble in a 10-round middleweight battle. "Real Fights!" will feature four main events, including Paul Spadafora vs. Dennis Holbaek in an IBF-IBC lightweight title unification bout; former world champion Angel Manfredy vs. Victoriano Sosa, in an IBF lightweight title elimination bout; and former WBA lightweight champion Raul Balbi vs. Juan Gomez-Trinidad, in a 10-round lightweight battle between top-10 contenders.

Rivera, 12-3-1 (7 KOs), known for speed and power, reeled off 10 straight wins during his career, which included a stretch where he literally "stretched" five opponents in a six-fight span. None made it past the sixth round! Rivera returns to the ring fresh from a technical draw against Rhoshii Wells.

Rivera replaces Jonathan Reid, who developed tendonitis in his right elbow during training camp.

Promoted by Michael Acri Boxing Promotions, in association with DiBella Entertainment, the PPV telecast will begin at 9 P.M. EST /6 P.M. PST.

It will be distributed by iN DEMAND with a suggested retail price of $24.95. Call your local cable/satellite provider for details.
