Armand Krajnc in a must-win situation in Aschersleben on March 1st

By Teddy Stenmark

22.10 - Former WBO middleweight champion Armand Krajnc (26-2-0) is preaparing for his first fight at his new weight class, Super middleweight, in Berlin. The 29-year old Swede, who has been boxing out of Germany his entire career, will be facing Portuguese journeyman Elisio Nogueira (10-29-3) on the Steinforth Promotion card at The Ballhaus-arena in Aschersleben, Germany on March 1st.

Headlining that card is 22-year old undefeated Russian light heavyweight, Robert Stieglitz (16-0) in a fight against Ukrainian Denis Salomka for the IBF Junior World championship belt. Krajnc who hasn't boxed since the 14th of September, when he suffered a devastating loss to Russian hard-hitter Sergey Tatevosyn (TKO 7) in Braunschweig and was hospitalised for a couple of days due to a severe concussion, is unquestionably in a must win situation.

The Portuguese trial horse shouldn't be a problem for Krajnc but the fact that Armand is now stepping up one weight and the French-based Nogueira is so well tested at top European level, having faced such stiff foes as Jean Paul Mendy, Frederic Esther, Antonio Perugino, Christian Sanavia and Jerry Elliot and also travelled the full route with each one of these fighters, indicates that the Swede could be in for a tough night after all.
