By Teddy Stenmark
17.03 - Team Palle released their plans for the upcoming 11th of April-Card in Copenhagen (KB-hallen) yesterday. Topping the bill are hot super middleweight contender, Mikkel "Hitman" Kessler (30-0) and his World-class colleague at the weight above, Mads Larsen (43-1). Mads opponent is still to be announced while Mikkel could be in for a difficult task. The current IBA champion defends his so called "World title" but will also go for the vacant and perhaps more prestigious WBC international title.
The skilful Kessler is pinned in with hard-hitting, former World title challenger, Craig Cummings (51-4-1, 42 KO) from the US. 35-year old Cummings known as a tough customer, fought for the WBO title in Scotland against Steve Collins in 1997 and lost (KO 3).
In addition to that he also sports a loss (TKO 7) to the hands of former World welterweight champion Aaron "Superman" Davis. With the exception of 4 losses and a draw the Cummings has all wins, 42 via the short route.
On the under card some of the stables finest prospects will be featured; Flyweight Steffen Nörskov (17-2-0), Junior middle Reda Zam-Zam (7-0), featherweight Spend Abazi (25-1-0), super middle Martin Nielsen (4-0), lightweight Martin Kristjansen (3-0), Norwegian Welter/Junior middle Anders Styve (9-1-0) and Swedish light heavy Giovanni Alvarez (11-0).
