Paolo Roberto Headlines "Back To The Baltic" Card July 5

By Teddy Stenmark

15.05 - The Scandinavian Promotional group Modern Sports & Events held a press-conference in Stockholm yesterday where they announced the upcoming card will be held in Marihamn, Aaland on the fifth of July.

The card that is to be named "Back to the Baltic" will have internationally strong Swedish welterweight Paolo Roberto in a defence of his WBO intercontinental title as the headline bout. No opponent has been named but according to Paolo three names have been mentioned. "It's not really my headache", the #3 ranked WBO contender confidently stated to Newspaper "Aftonbladet", obviously ready for anything put in front of him!

Roberto who boxed on the same Finnish Island on the 16th of November last year when he out-pointed Argentine Raul Bejerano for the WBC International title, is familiar with the place which is just a couple of hours with a ferry away from his home in Stockholm.

"It's just like a second home to me" he said at the press-conference and added that he would definitely quit if he didn't win this one. The dream-scenario for the brawling southpaw-Swede is to win the July-bout in impressive fashion and then hopefully take on the winner between German Michel Trabant and Dane Thomas Daamgaard for the vacant WBA title. If the Dane wins, a super-hot Scandinavian shootout between Roberto and Damgaard could very well be a possibillty!
