Stars Shining for Battle on Broadway!

11.12 - Located in the heart of Broadway, The Hudson Theatre is a meticulously restored 1903 landmark with all the authentic glamour of Carnegie Hall. Home to several Shakespearian and Operatic productions, the Hudson is famous for high-class drama set amidst five-star elegance.

In the last hundred years, the intimate theatre has become well known for its beauty and as a site that helped launch the careers of many world-famous entertainers including Barbra Streisand. On December 11, 2002, that tradition will continue, as Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing proudly presents “Battle on Broadway”, a night of live professional boxing, held, for the first time, inside the Hudson’s regal walls.

While notable warriors such as respected heavyweights Oleg “The Big O” Maskaev, 22-5 (17 KO), and Phil “The Enforcer” Jackson, 43-12 (38 KO), do battle in the ring, those lucky enough to be in attendance will be treated to a night of private, VIP luxury and fine dining with all the accoutrements that accompany a premier evening at the fights.

Featured in the exclusive reception room will be a multi-course meal, complete with an incredible selection of salads, multiple carving stations, fresh rolls, a variety of potato dishes, hearty vegetables, and a wealth of decadent deserts. Also available will be a rolling-cart service for hand-rolled cigars, a full-service cash bar throughout the evening, photographs with the beautiful round-card girls and the chance to mingle with several special guests and celebrities.

On the undercard are guaranteed-exciting fights between young-and-hungry local and international contenders looking to have their names launched from the Hudson Theatre to the rest of the world the way so many hopefuls have before them.

In a bout for the New York State Light Heavyweight Title, Craig Salamone, 13-1-1 (4 KO), will take on Brooklyn’s Daniel Judah, 16-0-1 (7 KO), while Star Boxing’s own welterweight sensation Andrey Tsurkan, 18-0 (12 KO) will be pitted against once-beaten Shawn Garnett, 9-1-1 (1 KO) for a regional title. Also scheduled for battle are Newton 'Butcher' Kidd (Bronx, NY) vs. Andrew Hutchinson (NYC), Pat Nwamu (Bronx, NY) vs. Eddie Dawson (Niagara Falls, CAN), Dex Pejcinovic (Bronx, NY) vs. Anthony Armstead (Queens, NY) and a special female attraction of Annemarie Saccurato (White Plains, NY) vs. Daria Hill (Philadelphia, PA).

The "Battle on Broadway" at the Hudson Theatre is located at 145 W. 44th Street (between Broadway and 6th Avenue) in New York City. Tickets are priced at $225 per person for a VIP Table (10 per table), $100, $75 and $50.For further information, please call 718 823-6600 or visit www.starboxing.com.
