LACY vs GRANT at PLAYBOY Mansion, July 15 on ESPN2

30.06 - Beefcake meets cheesecake, when boxing's newest and toughest Playmate, JEFF "Left Hook" LACY, puts his titles and undefeated record on the line and takes center stage (not centerfold!) at Hugh Hefner's Playboy Mansion in Hollywood, CA, Tuesday, July 15. Lacy will rumble with Richard "The Alien" Grant in the 12-round main event, promoted by Gary Shaw Productions, LLC, and televised nationally on ESPN2's "Tuesday Night Fights." Tickets and media credentials are by invitation only.

Lacy, the undefeated world-rated super middleweight contender, will be defending his WBC Continental Americas and USBA belts, as well as fighting for the vacant NABA title against Grant.

"How appropriate that I'm fighting at The Playboy Mansion?" said Lacy. "My titles seem to be multiplying like bunnies!"

Lacy, 14-0 (12 KOs), returns to the ring on the heels of his three most impressive victories as a professional. He stepped up in class of opposition to win a 12-round unanimous decision over WBC Continental Americas super middleweight champion and former world title challenger Ross Thompson, 25-6-1 (17 KOs), November 9, 2002. Lacy followed that with a second round knockout of James Crawford, 37-3-2 (16 KOs), February 22, in his first title defense while capturing the vacant USBA title. He successfully defended both titles, May 17, on SHOWTIME, knocking out Anwar Oshana, 23-2 (13 KOs), in the second round. The combined records of Thompson, Crawford and Oshana when they fought Lacy were an astounding 85-11-3 (46 KOs) - a winning percentage of nearly 86%! Not too shabby for a fighter with just 14 professional bouts to his resume.

A former U.S. National Amateur champion, Lacy earned a spot on the 2000 U.S. Olympic teams, with an amateur record of 209-12. In the Olympic Trials, he went undefeated, outscoring his opponents by the combined margin of 62-23. He followed that with a Gold Medal at the Olympic Box-Offs., earning him U.S. Olympian status. Following the Olympics, where he reached the third round, Lacy made his pro debut, February 2, 2001, knocking out Jerald Lowe in the first round. The lethal punch was a left hook to the body. Not bad for a pro debut that had to be postponed from January 31, 2001, when the scheduled opponent, Kevin Butts, pulled out of the bout the morning of the fight - despite having his purse TRIPLED! - rather than face this heralded Olympic bomber. Known for a great left hook, and superior hand speed and power punching, the "Lacy Express" is steaming toward a long and promising boxing future.

Grant, 14-9, a native of Jamaica, hails from Brooklyn, NY. He has won three of his last four bouts - defeating Kevin Pompey, 32-16-3; Vitali Kopitko, 18-3; and James Butler, 18-2, in the infamous bout where Grant, after winning the fight, offered his hand in sportsmanship only to be sucker-punched to the jaw by Butler, who was subsequently arrested by the NYPD. Grant has shown he can dance with almost anyone in boxing. The combined records of the last three men he beat when he fought them were an impressive 68-21-3 - a 74% winning percentage. Grant is currently rated No. 8 by the USBA.
