Desert Diamond Casino and Sugar Ray Leonard Boxing Bring “Friday Night Fights” to Southern Arizona

Tucson to Showcase World-Class Events for Live National Broadcast on ESPN2

30-07 - The Desert Diamond Casino, Arizona’s leading boxing venue, is partnering with legendary 6-time World Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Sugar Ray Leonard and Sugar Ray Leonard Boxing to host three upcoming world-class nationally televised boxing events. Sugar Ray Leonard, SRL Boxing and the Desert Diamond Casino management unveil the new partnership at a press conference at the Desert Diamond Casino.

All three events will be broadcast live to a national audience on ESPN2’s “Friday Night Fights” series. The fights are scheduled at the Desert Diamond Casino on November 7, 2003, February 6, 2004 and April 2, 2004 and will meet Leonard’s goal to feature the highest level of competition. Sugar Ray Leonard’s renowned talent in the ring has garnered equal success for him as a boxing promoter. Sugar Ray Leonard Boxing, which just celebrated its second anniversary, has put together top-notch cards that have sold out arenas across the country and been seen nationally on ESPN2, HBO and Showtime.
