Results from Thailand: Yodsanan stops Pearson

06.12 - The WBA Super Featherweight title match between local hero Yodsanan 3K-Battery and the postman #15 Lamont Pearson from the United States was greatly passed on Dec 5th at the Royal Park, Bangkok. This promotion was staged on the temporary opened-air ring and there were almost 100,000 boxing fans to witness this great contest. The promotion was broadcasted live all around Thailand via National Channel 7, the #1 Sports Channel of Thailand, from 3.30PM to 6.00PM.

Yodsanan KO9 Pearson: Yodsanan successfully defended his WBA Super Featherweight crown for the first time in an exciting contest. Pearson showed a great fight to all local fight fans. He showed his fast footwork and sharp punches to get Yodsanan in much trouble. However, his problem started from the 2nd round when he threw a hard uppercut to Yodsanan’s jaw. This unseen punch made Yodsanan almost lose his balance. As for the 3rd round, he did send many straight right punches to Yodsanan’s head. Pearson’s right fist was injured.

From the 4th round, Pearson seldom used his right fist as usual. He always threw his left jabs only. He could use his right weapon occasionally. He couldn’t follow his work properly because of his painful right hand. One of his staff trainers shouted loudly during the fight “Put Him Sleep” because of feeling disappointed that Pearson lost his chance to hurt Yodsanan as he could do.

Of course, this case effected positively to local world champion. Yodsanan still pressured his challenger with his aggressive style. Although he missed so many punches, but his attempt was succeeded in the 9th round. He floored Pearson to the canvas twice and the referee halted the fight. Thereafter, Pearson was immediately sent to Paolo Memorial Hospital. He was x-rayed his hand and his brain. His right fist was swollen, but his brain was in normal condition. There was no serious condition and he left the hospital on next day 2.00AM approx.

During this important event, the promotional staff stayed with Pearson’s party with his great mindfulness. He prayed in his heart all times “God Bless Pearson”. Everything was well passed. Pearson’s party did return home safely on Dec 6th morning, 6.10AM, by NW02 at Terminal 2.

Yodsanan truly praised his challenger “Pearson is a good fighter. He made me trouble throughout. However, I cannot lose on my homeland, especially on King Bhumipol’s Birthday. Today is our King’s Birthday, our National Day and our Father Day. There are such 3 important events on today. So I must win to celebrate the 75th Anniversary King Bhumipol’s Birthday”.

As for all Thai boxing fans around the country, they highly satisfied with Pearson’s excellent skills. Furthermore, during the ceremony before the fight, Pearson team did the unexpected thing which nobody expected earlier. One of his staff trainers, hold 2 little flags on his hands. The one was Thailand National flag. Another one was the yellow Royal flag. This made great amount of boxing fans clapped their hands together.

One of those boxing fans showed his interesting comments to the promotional staff “Since I have followed the boxing news and being a boxing fan for years, I never found out this event before. The foreign visitors didn’t hold their national flag, but hold the national flag of the host instead. We highly appreciate their performance. It looked so amazing and surprised us such greatly.”

3. Yokthai Sith-Oar (THA) KO4 Joel Junio (PHI)

This bout was also very exciting. Yokthai was knockdown in the 2nd round, but climbed through the rope and punished his Filipino opponent until the fight was stopped in the 4th.


Yodsanan v Pearson: Both fighters’ punches will stop the nervous war

04.12 - The WBA Super Featherweight title match between Yodsanan 3K-Battery, local world champion, and the visitor #15 Lamont Pearson from the United States is growing up to the boiling degree. Currently, all fight fans around the world cannot take their eyes off this great contest on tomorrow Dec 5th at the Royal Park, Bangkok. The weigh-in was well passed at 13-Coin Hotel on Dec 4th at 3.30PM.

Yodsanan stepped on the scale firstly and weighed 130lbs sharp. A moment after, Pearson got on the scale and weighed 130lbs also. Both fighters announced loudly that the fight won’t go the distance. However, all local fans and local media press believe in Yodsanan’s power punches and the hot weather. Finally, Yodsanan must definitely win the fight although it should be tough.

As for 2 undercards: Yoddamrong Singwangcha weighed 126lbs and his opponent Al Deliguer (PHI) weighed 127lbs. Yokthai Sith-Oar weighed 125 lbs and his opponent Joel Junio weighed 126lbs.
