EVANDER HOLYFIELD

“I am really looking forward to Oct. 4. I do not disrespect anyone, but anyone who fights me becomes a better fighter. I bring the best out of every opponent. Every fighter comes into their fight against me in great shape.”

“Toney says he is going to stand in front of me and fight me. I look forward to seeing him do that. If he stands in front of me, I will go through him. I will have a good time doing it too. There has never been a fighter that has stood in front of me very long. He may stand there, but it will not be for long.”

“I am glad Toney said he will be right in front of me, that way I will not miss him. Toney said he wants me to stand in there and hit him, I will certainly follow directions.”

JAMES TONEY

“It is going to be a great fight on Oct. 4. You will see two great fighters who do not run. We are here to fight. This fight is about blood and guts. You have two great fighters who could make this the fight of the year.”

“This is going to be about blood and guts. It is not going to be two fighters dancing around shaking their little butts. I am pretty sure Holyfield feels the same way.”

“I have a great amount of respect for Holyfield, but when the bell rings, the respect is gone. I am going to be in his ass all night long.”

“You have two of the best heavyweight fighters out there in this fight. We have fought everyone they have put in front of us. I cannot wait until Oct 4. I want to fight today.”

“Holyfield said this fight is a stepping stone for him. Well, he is not going to step on this stone. I am ready to fight, and I am going to give that Southern boy an ass whooping. Holyfield is a great fighter like myself, but this will be his last fight.”

“I talk a lot, but nobody is going to shut my mouth. I am not going to cry like (Mike) Tyson. I do not talk about it, I be about it. This is going to be a great fight for the fans. This fight should be for a championship. We are the real heavyweights. We do not go in the ring and hug and kiss. We fight.”
